Matt’s Story
Born and raised in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Matt’s passion for golf began at an early age. A graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, he honed his skills and knowledge under the guidance of renowned instructor Dave Pelz, gaining invaluable insights into the art and science of shooting lower scores.
Matt expanded his expertise as the Assistant Men’s Golf Coach at the University of Tennessee, where he worked closely with collegiate athletes to help them achieve peak performance. These diverse experiences have shaped his innovative teaching philosophy, allowing him to develop personalized methods tailored to golfers of all skill levels.
A lifelong advocate for learning, Matt has spent the past 20 years training and earning certifications in advanced technologies such as 3-D analysis, TrackMan, and Flightscope. He leverages these tools to validate his methods and ensure his students achieve measurable results.
When he’s not coaching, Matt enjoys playing golf and exploring the outdoors, continuing to draw inspiration from the game he loves.

Each lesson builds on the last, not adding too much, giving the student the chance to refine the latest “Matt input” via range time. Explains the swing thoughts he’s working on with you very well.
Matt is a genius when it comes to understanding the golf swing (and I don’t throw the word “genius” around lightly). He is amazingly perceptive when diagnosing a problem, and very skilled at identifying the root cause. It is really mind-blowing. Even better is his way of explaining it in a way that makes sense to me, and giving me corrective drills to practice. I’ve worked with A LOT of instructors over the years, but Matt is by far the best. If you’re considering booking him for a lesson, I promise you won’t be disappointed.
His knowledge of the game and the ability to see the things I needed to work on in just the first session and give video and feedback right away shows why he’s a great coach. Excited and ready for more to come!
